Sustainability

Turning closed facilities into recovered resources and redeveloped land.

Every decommissioned plant holds steel, metals, equipment and land that can return to productive use. Our business is built to recover that value, keep material out of landfills and put sites back to work.

Our approach

Recover. Reuse. Redevelop.

Sustainability at CCM Group is practical. It shows up in how we sequence a demolition to keep materials clean, how we segregate metals at the source, how we redeploy usable equipment and how we structure transactions that let brownfields be redeveloped.

01 · Sustainability

Circular demolition & material recovery

We plan demolition around recovery. Structures come down in a sequence that keeps materials segregated and clean, and recovered materials are processed to market specification and routed to the highest-value use.

  • Pre-demolition material inventories and recovery plans
  • Hazardous materials removed first to protect recyclable streams
  • Segregation of metals, concrete, brick, wood and equipment at the source
  • Recovered material credited against project cost where possible
Steel

Ferrous metals

Processed to mill specification for return to steelmaking.

Metals

Non-ferrous & alloys

Copper, aluminum, stainless, high-temperature alloys and super-alloys segregated to preserve value.

Concrete

Aggregate reuse

Concrete and masonry crushed for on-site backfill and grading where specifications allow.

Critical

Critical materials

Catalysts, precious metals and lithium-ion batteries routed to qualified recovery pathways.

02 · Sustainability

Brownfield redevelopment

Closed industrial sites are often already served by power, water, rail and road. Returning them to productive use reduces pressure to develop open land. Through plant acquisition and environmental risk transfer, we help owners move legacy sites toward redevelopment, including industrial reuse, logistics, data center and utility development.

03 · Sustainability

Asset reuse

Usable equipment is worth more in service than in the scrap pile. We assess, refurbish and redeploy industrial equipment through resale and our Proprietary Industrial Asset Auctions™, extending its service life and reducing demand for new manufacturing.

04 · Sustainability

Lower-carbon operations

We look for practical ways to reduce the fuel and emissions footprint of our field work.

  • On-site processing to reduce truck trips
  • Rail and marine logistics for bulk material where available
  • Equipment idle-reduction practices and right-sized fleets
  • Electric remote-controlled demolition equipment for enclosed work
  • Concrete reuse on site in place of imported fill

05 · Sustainability

Community

Our projects are often in communities with long ties to the plants we decommission. We communicate with neighbors, control noise, dust and traffic, and look for opportunities to hire locally and support workforce development.

06 · Sustainability

Project reporting

Owners receive documented results at closeout, giving them the data they need for internal sustainability reporting and redevelopment planning.

  • Tonnage recycled, reused and disposed by material stream
  • Equipment redeployed or sold for reuse
  • Waste manifests and chain-of-custody records
  • Certificates of recycling and destruction where applicable
